Off by default. The โ๏ธ button on a recording transcribes it far more accurately; live dictation is only literal, but it needs no sign-in and works offline.
Protect individual notes with a master PIN (and fingerprint / face). Lock a note from the ๐ button in its editor. If you forget your PIN, a recovery code is the only way back in โ generate and save one below.
Reminders arrive as notifications, even when the app is closed. If one comes due while you're offline, you'll see it as an overdue banner the next time you open the app. Android's battery saver can occasionally hold a notification back for a couple of minutes โ if reminders stop arriving, turn battery optimization off for NotesMD.
